Founder
Marca Porter
Marca Porter is the heart of Porter Tutoring. Nearly 36 years ago, Marca began Porter Tutoring as a private tutor, traveling to area schools during the day and meeting with more clients in the evenings. Prior to opening Porter Tutoring, Marca was a University tutor, Supervisor for UTA's tutoring program, and was Director for a national chain of tutoring programs. She loves scuba diving with her husband and preserving special memories through scrapbooking. She has a passion for education and possess an exceptional talent for discovering learning techniques to best fit each student that she contributes to God. Her favorite saying is, "Learn Something New Today!" as she believes you should learn something new every single day!

Audrey
​When you arrive at Porter Tutoring, you will be greeted by the receptionist, Audrey. She grew up here in Arlington, Texas and graduated from Arlington High School. While there, she was involved in photo journalism and was an editor for the yearbook. After high school, she went on to graduate from Tarrant County College with an A.A. degree. In her free time, she loves to rock climb, plan trips with friends, and care for her animals. Her favorite quote is, "the most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity." Ben
Ben grew up here in Arlington, Texas and graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with his BS in Aerospace Engineering and MS in Economic Data Analytics. During the day he works at Lockheed Martin as a Database Architect, but driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students, Ben still finds time to tutor whenever he can. Outside of work, Ben competes in USA Powerlitfting (USAPL) and collects Pokemon merchandise. His favorite book is "No Longer Human" by Osamu Dazai.

Dean
Dean is a native of Arlington, Texas, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arlington High School. While there, he was Vice President of Choir and member of the Academic Decathlon team. He is currently at UTA pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering. He is also a member of UTA's chapter of Engineers without Borders. Outside of school, Dean enjoys reading and playing with his chihuahua Coco. His favorite book is "The Inner Game of Tennis" by W. Timothy Gallwey.

Susan
Susan is a current 20+ year Kindergarten teacher at ECC at Fielder church. Before that, she also taught in public schools for 5 years between the grades of 2nd to 4th. She also subbed as a Pre-K to 12th grade plus state testing tutor for reading and math for grades 3 to 6. After school, she comes to Porter Tutoring with a bright smile to continue educating the young students we have here. Her devotion to education rubs off on our students and it helps grow with their own ambition. She enjoys reading poetry, mystery novels, and playing board or card games in her spare time.

Michelle
Michelle is a recent graduate of Seguin High School. While there, she was involved with the UIL Accounting team, STEM practicum, and the varsity tennis team. She is currently at UTA pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Accounting and a participant of the fast track program, where she will earn her Masters of Science in Accounting within a year of finishing her undergraduate studies. Afterwards, she hopes to earn her CPA and aspires to make a career from there. Outside of her studies, Michelle enjoys reading, doodling, jewelry making, and organizing her life through excel sheets to attend as many concerts as possible. Her favorite book is "Eleceed" by Son Je-Ho.

Brooke​
Brooke is a recent graduate of Seguin High School. During her attendance, she was involved with the orchestra, National Honor Society, HOSA - Future Health Professionals,Mu Alpha Theta honor society, and Key Club. She is currently at UTA where she is pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Afterwards, she aspires to be a part of the next generation of scientific advancements in the dynamically growing healthcare industry. Outside of her studies, Brooke enjoys bicycling, listening to true crime stories, drinking tea, and continuing to improve her craft as a violinist. Her favorite book is "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card.

Nathan
Nathan is a graduate of Wylie High School. During his high school career, he was a dual sport athlete with being in both football and tennis. He was also involved with debate, theatre, and culinary arts. Nathan is currently enrolled at UTA and is pursuing his B.S in Biomedical Engineering. He is also planning on enrolling into a PhD program in the near future to obtain his PhD in Philosophy of Kinesiology. In his free time, Nathan loves to garden, play video games, and read. His favorite book is "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes.

Katie
Katie is a recent graduate of Seguin High School. During her tenure there, she was a part of the volleyball, basketball, and track & field teams. In concurrence, she was involved with STEM Sisters, UIL Accounting, Key Club, and Student Council. Through STEM Practicum, she earned an internship at Lockheed Martin. She is currently attending UTA pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering & Accounting, in hopes to start her own company in the Biomedical Engineering industry. When she is not busy with her academic career, she enjoys playing her drums, piano, or guitar. In addition to all of her talents, she also enjoys the arts and loves to practice her artistic craft with realistic drawing. Her favorite book is "Animal Farm" by George Orwell.

Makayla
Makayla is a first grade teacher in Arlington ISD. She is also the 2024 - 2025 Teacher of the Year for her campus. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 golden doodles, and cat. She also enjoys being outside in nature and reading. Her favorite genre is mystery/thriller but she has recently started reading books of all genres and appreciates any good book recommendations!
